A Special End of the Year Drawing

I was under the weather yesterday and apologize for not finishing the post.  I could not bring myself to go back to the computer and literally slept all day!  We all need those days at times.  There was ice covering everything outside, including each blade of grass. Church was cancelled due to icy roads so there was no place to rush off to. The Christmas tree was lit all day and when I wasn't sleeping, I was in the big green recliner next to it reading a book.  I keep telling myself one day I will take a reading vacation- you know, when you do nothing but read for a few days.

Anyway, I did the drawing and the winners were Lynn from NC and Vicki from MN.  Each will receive a little bundle of the blue fabrics from the Snowfolk fabric line.

I have been listing Instant Download patterns on Craftsy a little at a time.  If you want a pattern NOW, that's the way to go!  You can see my store here-
I have more to add this morning so keep checking back.  I am thinking about adding cross stitch and punchneedle on there at some point.

Have you ever purchased Instant downloads?  If so, do you like it better? or not?

This last drawing coming up is for the Snowfolk fabric panel...
and a yard of the navy snowflake fabric to finish it up.

To Enter:
Email me at PGPeddler@aol.com before next Saturday night, December 28, at midnight central time. If you are not sure of this time zone, make sure you email before Saturday.

In the Subject LINE of the email put WEEK 4 SNOWFOLK.
This is very important.  ALL emails without this exact wording are not considered for the drawing.

In the BODY of the email- put your name and mailing address.
WE do not share this info with anyone, in fact, we delete them after the drawing.  This just makes it faster to ship the fabric TO YOU.
If you don't put your name and address BOTH in there, we will make a big ~~sigh~~ and draw another name.

I will post the winners next week.

ONE MORE THING- I will have a SPECIAL DRAWING at the end of the four weeks, after New Years, for each person that enters accordingly.  If you enter all 4 weeks, you get 4 chances.  If you enter 3 weeks, you get 3 chances, and so on, and so on.

Such a Wonderful Time of the Year!

Well, the weather outside is frightful
but the fire is so delightful.
and since I've no place to go,
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

OK, so it's not really snowing.  It's not even THAT cold.  But a person can dream right?
I love snowy nights when I have no place to go.  I did spend yesterday cutting up snowman fabric.  It's from my line called Snowfolk by Benartex.  The line has lots of navy blues, greens and reds.
Here's the panel that goes with the line.

I've decided to do a DRAWING each of the next four weekends on THIS BLOG for a small collection of the fabric line.

Week 1- seven fat quarters of red and tan fabrics

Week 2- seven fat quarters of green and tan fabrics

Week 3- seven fat quarters of navy and blue fabrics

Week 4- the panel pictured above and a yard of navy snowflake fabric to finish it.

So, here's what you do for the first drawing,  Week 1:

Email me at PGPeddler@aol.com before Saturday night, December 7, at midnight central time. If you are not sure of this time zone, make sure you email before Saturday.

In the Subject LINE of the email put WEEK 1 REDS.
This is very important.  ALL emails without this exact wording are not considered for the drawing.

In the BODY of the email- put your name and mailing address.
WE do not share this info with anyone, in fact, we delete them after the drawing.  This just makes it faster to ship the fabric.
If you don't put your name and address in there, we will draw another name.

It's pretty simple.

If you live overseas, enter.  It's not just for the U. S. We will send it to you if you win.  I promise.

This week, here is what's NEW on ETSY.

A Rainy Day in June

My garden is so happy today- it's pouring rain outside. We haven't had rain at my house in over 3 weeks and there are cracks in the ground already. This time last year Missouri was getting flooded. What a difference a year makes huh?
I woke to thunder and it was pouring! Who-hoo! No watering the garden today.
I forgot to Blog yesterday- I know, I'm getting old. There was so much other stuff going on and I just forgot. We did draw 2 names though- for the Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks magazines.
The winners are:
Eileen from Houston, TX and Velda from Bridgeton, MO. Congratulations ladies!

I wish I had a bunch to give out. I am cutting the fall and Wintersong fabrics this week. Next week we'll do a drawing for a sample bundle so stay tuned.

Is anyone doing anything special this summer? We go on a fishing trip each summer but I haven't thought past that. My grandbabies will all be there this year so I am looking forward to that. I just kept my grandsons this weekend and out of the mouths of babes- my 4 year old grandson Nathan and family went to SC to visit their daddy in the Army recently. He is doing basic training for the Army Reserves for 6 months.

Nathan was so sad to leave his daddy there when they came home. Nathan told me "the only way the Army would let his daddy come home" was if Nathan leaves him there. He said then the Army would get done with him. He was so sad when he talked about him but it was so cute the way he said it! Kirk comes home in about 5 weeks.

Fabric Bundle Winner!

What a HOT weekend here in mid- Missouri! I've been doing a little remodeling job in my office and been outside painting stuff. It's HOT! Even the dogs don't want to go out! I'm waiting on my covers and patterns to show up and I'll be able to ship orders from market finally. Maybe this week, maybe not!

I did the drawing this morning and the winner of the Green fabric bundle, courtesy of Benartex, is Lynn from North Carolina. Congratulations Lynn! I'll be sending you a package this week. I just want to mention, I only open the entry emails the day of the drawing so forgive me if I don't respond to every email right away. I am always afraid I will accidentally misplace one of the entries so I keep them in place until the drawing. I was thrilled to hear from so many, and thank you all for the sweet notes. I wish I had time to respond to every email. I am saddened for Susan in the sudden loss of her husband this month and I will add your family to my prayer list. This we will we'll have a drawing for the gold bundle, once again courtesy of Benartex, and a What's All The Buzz? pattern.

To enter:
Email me at PGPeddler@aol.com
Put GOLD in the subject line.
Please put your name and mailing address in the body of the email. I get entries all the time with no address and they are not considered. This saves us time when sending your winnings!

I'll draw a name next Sunday.

Winners & Websites

Been a busy day so sorry for the delay in posting. We had a lot of entries this week so I decided to pick 2 winners for the punchneedles and patterns. I just emailed them both so check your email. Winners are Sheila from TN and Cindy fro TX. Congratulations ladies.

I have been finishing up the website changes and it is almost done. I'm really happy with the way things are going and can't wait to be done. Hopefully I'll be ready to publish it early this week. I'd love some feedback on it so I'll post here when it's up and running. Once it's ready, I'll post some special things so stay tuned.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there. My dad passed away in 1977 but I still miss him sorely. He loved kids and I know he would so enjoy his five grand kids and great three grand kids. I'm the one in the middle of the picture with the skinned knees (1961). Notice the matching purple dresses.

We had another night of storms in the Midwest. We've had SOOO much rain- another 2" overnight alone. I wish we could shift it south to AZ, CO, OK, and TX where there are fires because of drought. This weather's a mess. I do think the excess rain has changed the Cicada noise situation though- they are all dead in heaps all over the ground now. I'm not sure if it was their time to go, they drowned, or just committed suicide due to excess rains, but they are much quieter these days.

I spent last night fine tuning a few quilts and today, after church and Father's Day festivities, I'm planning to piddle with quick fuse. Is piddle a word? LOL. I'm anxious to get the quilt tops done and see how they look. We're going fishing one of these days and I want to get set up to take some hand work with me for the down time. I still don't have any of my new fabric lines to use so I'll make these first quilts from stash.

I do know now that they are showing my two lines(#2 Fall and #3 Holiday) this Fall at the Intl. Quilt Market in Houston, so I should be able to post pictures by late summer/ Sept hopefully. Pretty exciting even though it seems to have taken forever from start to finish. The first line took about 2-1/2 years from start to sale. These two are taking 1-1/2 years. Shorter but still seems forever.

Winner? Do we have a winner? I had a lot of entries but can only pick one. The prize is a $50 gift certificate for patterns on my website. The winner is Colleen from New York. Congratulations Colleen. I'll do another drawing for a gift certificate soon.

I had a few comments on my daughter's jewelry- here's the latest that she added and here's link to her Etsy store. She is still donating 1/3 of every sale to the Joplin tornado cleanup through Operation Blessing. Her jewelry is beautiful.

Have a great day.

What? Again?

Looks like it's true- we got snow, again. Just when you think the nasty weather is behind you, it rears it's ugly face out there. Hopefully it will be melted by tomorrow. It was a very pretty snow to look at.

I got a kindle this week. I downloaded about 40 books and I'm all ready for surgery. I know I won't get to read them all but it was like a kid in a candy store. I want to read this, I want to read that, too easy now! I figured I'd be reading one handed after surgery so, what's a girl to do? right? It's justifiable.

I didn't finish the studio yet, two walls to go but got busy in other places. I'm trying not to stress about it so I may not even get it done before surgery. My office is nice and organized now. I'm upgrading the computer and getting a second monitor. So exciting!

My 4 year old grand daughter Grace will be here with us some this week. I already have art projects for her to work on, as she's very crafty and loves art. I plan to make cookies with her (she has food allergies so they are limited). Maybe we'll shop a bit. I spent last night cutting out paper dolls for her (she loves paper dolls). Any suggestions on what else we can do this week? I'd love to hear some thoughts on this!

We have a winner for the Carrot Hop quilt. It's Susan from Colorado. Congratulations Susan, I'll send it to you this week.

Let's do another drawing this week for a tapestry craft bag - it's just full of little pockets and zippers. So many places to hide your stash!
To enter, email me at PGPeddler@aol.com by midnight next Saturday night, 4/2/11.
Put "Bag" in the subject line. Put your name & mailing address in the body of the email.
I'll draw a winner next Sunday and post it here.

Too Busy To Blog?

Sounds silly I know but it's true. I've just been too busy to blog recently. I finished working on fabric line #4 just in time to start a minor remodel. Lines #2 and #3 release dates have been pushed back until Fall now. We have been working on my studio and what a job it turned out to be. It's like moving all over again. Everything had to be hauled out and once it was done and ready to be filled, I just couldn't bring everything back in. Lots of it had to be sorted, filed and sadly, mostly tossed out. I guess it's my Spring Cleaning. It feels good though. Someone told me once that you spend your first 40 years collecting "stuff" and you spend the next 40 getting rid of it all. Hence, I am in the later 40 years!

I am having Corpal Tunnel surgery on my left hand next month and I'm determined to get all these things done before then. I already started working on designs for fabric line #5 so I'm anxious to finish those before the surgery. This past week everyone in my family has also been down with the flu (including me) so I am definitely challenged on time.

Here's a picture of my newest 4 x 4 pattern (4 Designs X 4 Projects). It's called #390 4 X 4 -Flowers. This week for a drawing, I'll offer one of each of the 4 x 4's to a single winner.

To enter-
Email me at PGPeddler@aol.com by next Saturday midnight 3/19/2011.
Put "Flowers" in the subject line.
Add your complete mailing address in the body of the email.

Next week, we'll have a drawing for something special. Stay tuned!

What a Week!

It's late and I'm not sleeping yet (about 3 am.) I thought I'd take this opportunity to post since I've been so negligent on Blogging recently. The new patterns are pictured on the website at www.prairiegrovepeddler.com.

Houston Quilt Market & Festival were great but I'm so glad to be back home (and sleeping in my own bed). Two weeks away is a long time even though we spent most of it visiting old friends and my sister. Actually, visiting my sister is like going to a spa for a week. She has a beautiful home with all of the amenities of a great hotel. There's even a pool in the back yard if the weather is warm enough to enjoy it.

Last Thursday I had an outpatient surgery - it was uneventful for the most part and I slept for pretty much three full days afterwards. My only drawback is that I broke blood vessels in both eyes following surgery and I have to say that after 4 days, I still don't look very good with blood red and yellow eyeballs. It's kind of creepy actually! I feel very fortunate that things went as well as they did.

The good news, all orders have been shipped. The bad news, pattern #720 still is not ready. With all of the surgery stuff going on, I forgot to get the last project to my quilter Marilyn so it is not ready as of yet. Hopefully another week or so and I'll be shipping the rest of the orders for it.

This week, even though we're getting a late start, we'll have a drawing for the new 4 X 4's (all 4 of them).
Email me by this Saturday at midnight-
Put 4 x 4 in the title or subject line.
Include your name and full mailing address (to make shipping faster).

I'll draw two names on Sunday and post the names here on the Blog.
Possibly next week or the week after, we'll have a drawing for the new American Folk Art Series. I have to finish that last one first.

It's a Mystery!

Ok, I know, sorry I made you wait so long this week for the winners.

I'm supposed to be working on quilts but I took a little detour this weekend. First, my sister and niece came to visit yesterday. I had to clean extra special (don't you know) and make sure everything looked just right. Sarah and Grace were also in town and my son, his wife and 2 boys were also here. By the time they all left, I had to clean again! Go figure!

My sister was in a bad car accident about 3 months ago. She was hit from behind at full speed while stopped to turn and broke her neck among other things. She has a halo bolted to her head and neck and she's been sleeping in a chair for 3 months. She finally gets it off next week and I know she'll be so happy. This was her first trip in quite some time. I was pretty excited to have her come.

I started a baby quilt for Patrick a year ago and never finished it (I know, ~ holding my head low~ what kind of grandma am I? I ask myself that same question all the time!) Anyway, I decided today was the day. After all, little Patrick is almost 1 year old and he can now drag the blanket around with him everywhere he goes. Just in the nick of time, I say- err, I mean, I planned it that way! I have a few knots to tie and I'll be done with it. Nathan and Grace have one like it in different colors. No batting inside, just chenille, Minkie and fabric. It's so cuddly and soft.

I also started a toaster cover, coffee pot cover, mixer cover and table runner for my kitchen. They aren't near done but they're cut out and ready to sew. Maybe tomorrow. Seems like when you have company, it reminds you of all of the things you once started and never finished! Well, pillow covers are next. Remember when I bought the fabric for them? It's been a while so it's time to start them also before anyone else comes to visit.

I know I just decorated when I moved in 8 months ago but I'm already changing wall color. That will come next week. I'm on a roll to fit it all in between the quilting. I actually got up at 3:30 am this morning, sewed until 10am, got ready & went to church and back to sew after lunch. I think tonight I'll tie the baby quilt, photograph it for the Blog and take it easy. It's been a long day. I did have creamer today, in case you're keeping track. I can go days without sleep- if I have my beloved Cinnamon Vanilla creamer. It's a sickness, I know.

I have winners for the Mystery Drawing this week. They are

Cross Stitch: Jan from FL

Quilt: Ruth from FL (also)

Craft: Monica from AR

They each win 5 pumpkin patterns or charts in their category including my newest ones. Congratulations ladies!

Next week- the prize is a quilt. A Pumpkin Quilt, or a big ole pumpkin rag quilt to be specific. To enter:

Email me at PGPeddler@aol.com with OLE RAG in the subject line.

If you add the number of pumpkin patterns & charts that I offer (on www.prairiegrovepeddler.com , I'll enter you twice. Someone will win this quilt next Sunday, will it be you?

Put your name and address in the body of the email.

Entries without both are not considered.

I do not keep the addresses nor do I send unwanted emails of any kind. I don't sell the names. I just want them so I can send the prize out to the winner a lot faster. That's all. I promise!

Have a great evening!

Sunday Evening News

I'm sorry for not posting before now but I ended up spending this week visiting my mom in Memphis and I just got back tonight. It was a nice visit but I'm glad to be home. Sarah and 3 year old Grace went also and Grace charmed everyone she met. She's quite the song and dance little lady. Her newest performance is Old MacDonald's Farm. We spent a lot of time at the lake feeding the geese and ducks near my moms. Her sister, my aunt Jean, lives down there also so we all got to visit and we took a few walks together. She's 88 and still does sit-ups and walks everyday. What an inspiration! I'm really tired tonight but have a lot of work to catch up on tomorrow so I can't rest for long. I took a lot of pictures but I'm too tired to load them so I'll post tomorrow.

We found a winner for the punchneedle design, it's Sheila from TN. (funny, I was just there!) The sad part is we chose someone else but the address wasn't included so we chose again. Please remember to include your address when you enter as it's the only way you'll win. Congratulations Sheila! I'll be sending the punchneedle design to you tomorrow.

I'll post the new contest tomorrow also so check back. Good night!

So Many Entries, So Few Prizes!

I got SOOO many emails this week and a lot of entries for the oak basket. Thanks to everyone for the sweet notes. I wish I had a basket for everyone. I will, in fact, offer another oak basket soon but there can only be one basket winner this week. It was Barb from OR. The winner of the wool table runner is Marilyn from WI. Congratulations to you both. I'll ship them this week.

I finally finished a few little candle mats this week and got them photographed. Here's a sneak peak- this one is called Shamrocks. I know, a day late and a dollar short but better late than never, right?

I also have a bunny to release this week. I plan to send them to distributors later this week. I have several more to release next month during the Online Needlework Show. Now I have to get back to my new quilt patterns. Seems there's never a shortage of things to work on around here. Good thing I have good help.

This week for the drawing, I thought I'd offer a finished quilt. It's called Carrot Hop and measures about 37" square. All you have to do to enter, is email me at PGPeddler@aol.com. Put "Carrot" in the subject and send your name and mailing address. I'll choose a winner next Sunday.

Put WINTER GARDEN in the title.

I'm working on new cross stitch charts and will release a couple in another week or two. New Quilt patterns are underway for Spring. There's lots of good things going on even with all of the snow on the ground!

Christmas Week Giveaway

This week I'll offer Cross Stitch Chart #53 Christmas Ornaments and Chart #54 Little Candle Mats- American Sheep for the weekly giveaway. There will be two winners. All you have to do is email me by midnight next Saturday with "Christmas" in the title and included your name and mailing address. Every week we have many entries that do not include their address and they are not considered. Please remember to add it in there. We don't share it nor do we store it for future spam. That's a promise. It just makes sending out the prize much easier and faster when we already have it.

For the quilters, we offer a giveaway this week of two quilt patterns- #369 Winter's Song and #383 Three Stockings. All you have to do is email me before midnight next Saturday with "Quilt" in the title and send you name and mailing address. I'll personally pick two winners next Sunday morning before I go to church.

My beagle is going crazy this morning due to the two coyotes hunting mice in the field behind us. There's snow on the ground and I can see them very clearly today. They are about twice the size of my beagle and she's smart enough to stay a good distance away while barking to make sure they know they are in HER territory! She's a tough one. Sometimes she will chase after one if it's alone until it turns on her and she runs back to the house with her tail between her legs! Very pretty out there with the snow.

Christmas Winners!

Well, we have two winners for last week. They are Donna from TN and Joan from SD. Congratulations ladies! I sent you an email.

I did something special on my Newsletter last week and had a lot of comments about it. Thanks to everyone who responded in time and got a free chart.

This week I thought I'd offer THREE Cardinal charts- they are the ones pictured here. We'll also have THREE winners this week. By the way, this contest is open to everyone, whether you are in the United States or not.

To enter, email me before next Saturday at midnight. Put you entire mailing address in there (sorry, those without are not considered for winning and we have had a lot of them incomplete) and "Cardinal" in the title. Good luck!

A Lot of Winners!

Wow, there were so many entries this past week! Last week we drew 2 names, and as promised, today we drew 4. Our winners are Kathy from LA, Barb from NY, Trish from Ontario, and Louise from NC. Congratulations ladies. I'll be sending you charts tomorrow.

This next week, we will draw only 2 names. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, the prize is 2 charts from the Little Candle Mat series, #48, Stockings & #49, Poinsettias. All you have to do is email before midnight next
Saturday, put "LCM" in the title, and send your name & mailing address. It's really pretty simple.

Entries without the mailing address included are not considered. We've been doing drawings for a while now and it's much easier to send the free charts right away without having to contact the winners and wait for a reply, which sometimes would take weeks. WE don't keep those addresses on file nor do we share your information with anyone, that's a promise.

Thank you to everyone who enters faithfully each week and thank you for all of the sweet notes that I get with the entries.

All you have to do is email me this week at PGPeddler@aol.com, before Saturday midnight, and put "Three Pumpkins" in the title. Send your name, address and email address. I promise that I won't share it with anyone. I will choose a winner next Sunday.

Online Retail Show Continues

Tomorrow is the last day for the Online Needlework Show. There is a lot to look at and I've spent a few hours on there. This is a test show so they can decide if they want to continue with it. I personally didn't do the show but I know a few designers that did and I think they've had a good response. There was a lot of talk about needlework shops boycotting the designers that did the show so I'm guessing that's probably why so many designers didn't do the show.

If you haven't seen it yet, the show is at http://needleshowretail.com. Tonight is the last to enter the drawing this week. Tomorrow starts a new drawing. Off to finish some designing.
