Another Week Closer to Christmas

It is a scorcher today. I'm talkin' 96 degrees out there. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse. I am so looking forward to Fall. I have been fine tuning my new designs, expecting my new fabric most anytime. I will post it here just as soon as they allow. I have also been tinkering with my website. I think it's time for a change. I am always planning some change or another but this time I'm going to redo it quite a bit. I'll keep you posted but I think I'll start on it this week. I want it to be ready for the unveiling of my newest fabric line. Won't be long now.

I have been taking some evening classes, trying to finish my Bachelors of Science degree. I stopped school when I got married. I can tell you it's not the same going to college now as it was in the 70's when I went before. It is so much easier now. You have the internet, email, Word- which corrects everything, and even does your citations for you. I am really loving it so even if it is a bit of work.

What is everyone doing this summer?

  1. I guess you would call our day a "Flash Fire" day. My friend's thermometer says it's 112! Mine only said 107 and the weatherman on TV said it was 105 but that's still pretty hot. So we are inside sewing up a storm this summer! I have finished 3 tops already!!!! One of them has been waiting to be finished for 13 years. It was actually my daughter's. She was in a "Birthday-Square" quilt group and they made these for her when she was 8 years old. She will be 21 on her next birthday. I decided it was time to complete SOMETHING so I got her blocks out and stitched away. That got me started and I finished 2 more tops. Now I have 4 more to go!

Good luck on your degree. Luckily I finished mine up in 4 years...but that was a long long time ago! It might be fun to enroll....nope never mind...don't wanna do that again!

  2. I have been working on my son's wedding quilt. It is an Asian design and almost complete. It is large and feels so much larger working on it in this heat (no a/c here)! Almost done and ready to send off to the longarm quilter! Yippee! Then I can work on some smaller projects!
    Good luck with your degree.
